Ohhhh How Good It is for Brother & Sister to Dwell Together…

It was truly an honor to spend time telling stories of God’s greatness to the residents of Signature Healthcare of Buckhead on Thursday March 26th. The Chaplain’s Storytelling Guild has really taken flight! The art of telling a storytelling, per the National Storytelling Network, suggests that “Storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination.”

It is Interactive, uses words, presents a story, and encourages the active imagination of the listeners. I will never forget Dr. Mark Lomax, a professor of homiletics at the Interdenominational Theological Center, and his theory of “Painting the Picture”. He instilled in each of us that when preaching or teaching, the story within the lesson must be painted for listener to grab hold and travel with you.

The Signature Chaplain Storytelling Guild is helping to ” paint the picture” of God’s Greatness to all who will listen. Thank you Dr. Nancy Penton of Signature Healthcare of Buckhead for hosting our first Georgia Storytelling session and thank you Chaplain Tom Hicks of Signature / Harriman Care and Rehab in Tennessee. … It was a pleasure to dwell together with you as we “paint the picture” of God’s love, greatness, and care.
