Ohhhh How Good It is for Brother & Sister to Dwell Together…

It was truly an honor to spend time telling stories of God’s greatness to the residents of Signature Healthcare of Buckhead on Thursday March 26th. The Chaplain’s Storytelling Guild has really taken flight! The art of telling a storytelling, per the National Storytelling Network, suggests that “Storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination.”

It is Interactive, uses words, presents a story, and encourages the active imagination of the listeners. I will never forget Dr. Mark Lomax, a professor of homiletics at the Interdenominational Theological Center, and his theory of “Painting the Picture”. He instilled in each of us that when preaching or teaching, the story within the lesson must be painted for listener to grab hold and travel with you.

What time is it??

One of the most common questions within our society remains… “What time is it”. No matter the gadgets we carry, the gizmos we use, or the numerous watches we own, we remain fixed on this notion of time running out to do that which is most important in our daily routine. Many days, we work all day long, and when the day concludes, all we can say is… “There are not enough hours in the day”.

We depart with the anxiety that many tasks and to do’s have been left undone and we await the arrival of the next day to complete all that we believe is pressing. What time is it? This question sounds as loud as a bull horn, announcing that we have something to accomplish and not enough time to get it done! What time is it?

Hall of Fame

Shining Stars. Resident Mrs. Mary Jo Anderson was inducted in our 2013 Hall of fame. She is our Mail Delivery go to person. She has found great purpose in being the bearer of good news. She awakens daily with excitement and expectation to greet her fellow residents as she delivers their mail. “God daily loads her with benefits”.

She found purpose once again! After coming to our facility faced with disappointment, she received a life changing message that “God has placed her right where she needs to be” who would have thought that it would be “delivering mail”. At the Hall of fame, she was beyond blessed by a great show of support by a whooping 47 guests of family and friends who came to celebrate her. Whoop, whoop! What a special lady!

Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart. ~Washington Irving
